MEET THE TEAM

Farmers Phil Hook and son Steve, with Paul Vidler. Paul is our Hailsham milkman, whilst Phil delivers milk in Eastbourne. Steve does most of the milking, and looking after the cows. The real star however is Ida! She is great with the public and surely has a future in P.R.!
Phil Hook
Phil has worked on the farm all his life. Although he is less involved with farmwork, now he is ‘retired,’ he is still fully involved in the business as well as delivering milk in Eastbourne three days a week. Phil is still chairman of the Hailsham Market Action Group, determined to ensure that Hailsham continues to have a Livestock Market. Every month on the second Saturday, you can meet Phil at the Hailsham Farmers Market, and try our milk for yourself!
Steve Hook

Steve treats all his cows in the same friendly way. When they see him at the start of each day, he wants them to think ‘great it’s our lovely farmer, let’s go and say hello’. Everything is done to make the cows’ daily life as stress free and happy as possible, making Steve’s day really enjoyable. The cows love being at Longleys Farm too!
Teresa Pye
Teresa looks after all our milk round customers. No mean feat considering there are currently about 500 locally. She organizes the weekly milk round deliveries for Paul and Phil, and tallies up at the end of the week. Teresa, produces all the monthly invoices, and deals with all the milk round changes and queries. She is fantastic at keeping it all in order!
Paul Vidler
Paul used to be a milkman many moons ago, and has always said it was the job he most enjoyed. We are thrilled to have Paul running our Hailsham round. He is great with our customers ensuring a totally reliable service. Paul also oversees the milk bottling three times a week at 6am, before going out on his round! Paul also does one day a week farmwork helping out with stock tasks, lookering, tractor work…… some say he is turning into a real farmer!
Claire
Farmer Steve’s wife Claire delivers milk on Thursdays every week in Horam and to family and friends in Tunbridge Wells. She also helps out as and when needed to deliver milk locally. Claire is seen here helping out at Hailsham Farmers Market. However, her time is fully used up looking after her four boys George, Joseph, William and Giles and husband Steve. She is a very active member of St Marys church in Hailsham and also a fantastic cook…..the boys just don’t know how lucky they are……!
George
Steve and Claire’s eldest son George is in his first year at Park College studying A Levels. He works on the farm during his holidays, and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. He feeds the calves, does some mucking out and lookers the animals on the marsh. Along with Paul, his cousin Harry and brothers Jo and Will he bottles the milk on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 6am.
Joe
Joe is in Year 10 at Hailsham Community College. He enjoys playing football and cricket. Joe helps bottle the milk once, sometimes twice a week. He also keeps a couple of ferrets. He’s quite good with them, all his fingers are still intact!
William and Giles
William is pictured here with his little brother Giles ‘mucking out’ the milking parlour one morning after the cows have been milked. Remarkbly they have stayed fairly clean! William is also part of the bottling team, doing the bottling every Wednesday morning, and also some Friday mornings.

Harry Chatfield
Harry is the same age as William and is his first cousin. Harry lives just up the lane from the farm, and helps out bottling on Monday mornings, and some Friday mornings before walking up to school with his cousins William and Joe.
